PRODUCTION MANAGER
Production managers oversee the production process in manufacturing operations.
They are responsible for making sure orders are met on time, that products are of the right quality and that costs are kept as low as possible. Production control involves making sure that production schedules are followed. Production managers get information on progress and adjust production schedules if problems arise.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Plan details of production activity in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements. Optimize production resources and achieve cost competitiveness;
  • Prepare work programs to achieve planned production and direct production control activities
  • Control use of production plant facilities through planning of maintenance, the setting of operating hours and supply of parts and tools
  • Coordinate and direct quality control procedures and the implementation of GMP, food safety and safety requirements, ensuring statutory requirements are met all time.
  • Direct research into new and improved production methods and process
  • Monitor the preparation of production records and reports
  • Provide advice and information about production to other managers and clients, build good communications within and across departments
  • Plan production policy in consultation with other managers
  • Recommend and implement initiatives such as new production techniques, products, purchase of new machinery and changes in staff levels
  • Supervise production staff and organise staff selection, training, development and utilisation.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve excellence in performance and meeting / exceeding budget;
  • Achieve HACCP, ISO, and Halal audit compliance and maintain certification for the plant;
  • Implement continuous improvement programs, 5S and safety requirements under OSHA;
  • Work with engineering on new projects and upgrading works;
  • Have a WIN, EXECUTE and TEAM culture.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:
  • Degree in related field with minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Exposure to consumable products environment will be an advantage;
  • Proven hands on experience in leading a team of production staff;
  • Have great communication skills
  • Have analytical and planning skills
  • Have good problem-solving skills
  • Be able to understand the techniques and processes used
  • Be able to keep calm and make quick, clear decisions while coping with pressure
  • Be able to prioritise
  • Be flexible
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001,GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000 and Halal requirements are added advantage;
  • Knowledge Quality improvement programmes;
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and dynamic personality;
  • Must be willing to work in Butterworth.
