Senior Management
Head of Operations


This is a senior management position having several functions reporting directly to the incumbent. The Head of Operations will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

The major responsibilities include:

  • Total accountability for the Management and Profitability of the entire Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities;
  • Drive continuous improvement projects with the objective of improving overall manufacturing efficiency, productivity and output;
  • Define, develop and implement long and medium term strategic operational plans;
  • Lead, direct and manage all manufacturing operations to achieve high quality, on-time delivery, high productivity and budget targets;
  • Work closely with other functional heads to meet overall company goals and objectives;
  • Interface with customers to build good relations for technical exchanges and customer satisfaction;
  • Encourage process improvement using the proper format, thus ensuring process and product safety, product quality, lowering costs while increasing throughput;

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have more than 10 years hands-on experience as a Plant or Factory manager in a high volume FMCG manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in food manufacturing industry will be an added advantage;
  • Possess a degree in engineering/manufacturing technology or related discipline;
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills;
  • Good working knowledge of ISO, GMP, HACCP, Kaizen would be an added advantage;
  • Able to coach and mentor subordinates effectively;
  • Must be a highly motivated and results-oriented person;

People Specifications:

  • Must have managed 2nd level managers during his/her career;
  • Highly motivated & dynamic personality;
  • High energy level with “can do attitude”
  • People Oriented and be able to Mentor and Guide 1st and 2nd level managers in problem solving and decision-making processes;
  • Hands-on and be ready to roll up sleeves to be on the ground with his / her people if the need arises;
  • Not an “Arm Chair” Manager and be able and willing to spend time on the manufacturing floor on a regular basis;
  • Understands the intricacies and complexity of managing shop floor employees who are Unionized;
  • As part of succession planning, this person must be of a caliber to become CEO in the future.;
  • Must have a good understanding of company finances especially Cost of Sales, Gross Margin and Gross Profit;
  • Has to have experience in managing multi-disciplined functions and have a good engineering background.
