Day to day responsibilities will contribute to the creation of balanced project portfolio in terms of innovation, renovation, productivity, supply chain source configuration, quality improvement and sustainability.
Collaborate with cross functional partners to develop margin improvement and technical innovation opportunities.
Work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing to specify, test and implement the optimum packaging design for new products.
Drive cost reduction through rationalization of packaging materials and supplier diversification across APAC.
To gather first-hand insights into the specific packaging needs of industrial and professional customers.
Support the planning and organization of plant tests and end-user tests relating to packaging
Providing R&D technical expertise for the packaging projects in the regional application center.
Driving implementation and adaptation of the holistic packaging projects to guarantee maximum utilisation of packaging to deliver scale and increase mental & physical availability.
Manage the packaging development process, including the creating of packaging designs, prototype development, specification and testing.
Conduct experiments, trials and analysis to validate and advance technical packaging opportunities both internal and at external supplier.
Manage approval processes related to printed materials.
Work closely with existing and new suppliers.
Undertake other tasks as and when required.
Bachelor degree of Engineering / Food Science / Science or any equivalent
Good grasp of understanding of the packaging terminology, concepts and technology
Having economic and regulatory awareness of packaging
At least 2 – 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
Able to think out of the box and strives for continuous improvement
Having problem solving understanding to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Able to work well with other stakeholders
Excellent communication skills – both in oral and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
